Fabulous restaurant with a gorgeous, upscale atmosphere and food with a kick. The service is fabulous, the menu is reasonably priced and inspires you to take a chance on something new, and the drinks are to die for. If you come on a Friday after 9, the arcade they have upstairs has free play for all games.

Bartenders were very sweet and drinks were fantastic! Stellar food as well! My friend from Texas had the Elote app and said they were better than any she’s had there and I had the fried avocado tacos and wanted to order 4 more if I weren’t already full!! Will definitely be back!!

Everytime I visit this place they never disappoint! The food is tasty and the drinks are fantastic! On my last visit it was me and my fiance 6th anniversary. We got there maybe an hour after they opened and it was quiet, which I loved. Our waitress was amazing, very helpful with drink selections and keeping our water glasses full. We order so much but the highlight was definitely the short rib tacos, elotes and margaritas! I'm not usually a margarita drinker but I could actually drink this one and enjoy it! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

I'm trying to explore other restaurants in downtown these days. I randomly selected this place and their tacos were some of the best I tasted in a while. I especially liked the "Choriqueso" where they held back on the cheese a little which was a welcomed surprise from the drenched fare you would get at other places. Their avacado-tomatillo salsa was very spicy but not over the edge. If you want something filling but not super-hardy, get the Tostada. Oh, and they had some lucho libre playing on the tube at the bar.

Had an excellent time at Virgil's! My son & I went after a show at Duke Center for Performing Arts, they are open till 12am. I've wanted to check this place out for awhile and was not disappointed! The tacos were heavenly! Also had the Papi Chulo tequila cocktail, delish! Raena is an exceptional hostess & I def will come back here when I'm in Raleigh, Thank you Virgil's!

Saw this restaurant on a "best tacos in NC" article and had to go test them out. Well worth the drive and definitely adding it as a stop on road trips that take us through the capital.
